April 2016 College Scholarship Winners Announced

We’re pleased to announce that our scholarship committee has selected two winners for our $2,500 college scholarship contest! There were many impressive applicants, but the committee has recognized two that stood out due to their ability to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their goals. Hannah Harris and Tara Vayne will each receive $2,500 to put toward their education.

January 2016 Graduate Scholarship for Teachers Winner Announced

Our scholarship committee is pleased to announce that we have selected our first ever $5,000 Graduate Scholarship for Teachers winner: Aaron Valley! Our scholarship committee reviewed many deserving teacher applicants but Aaron stood out from the crowd. He will receive $5,000 to put towards earning his Master’s degree from Missouri Baptist University.

December 2015 Community College Scholarship Winners Announced

Our scholarship committee is pleased to announce our December 2015 Community College Scholarship winners! Hernan Cortes of Reedley College and Rebecca Bender of Spokane Community College were picked due to their exceptional abilities to overcome financial hardships. We have awarded them each a $2,500 scholarship to go towards their education.

Announcing the July Women's Scholarship Winner: Alexa Van Bomel

Alexa van Bromel, the July winner of the Women’s Scholarship, is pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. Her goal is to become a Speech Pathologist and help children who have communication disorders. It was clear from Alexa’s application that she has a passion for helping others, and will use her education towards this purpose.

June Community College Scholarship Winner: Ryan Bosela

SR Education Group is proud to announce Ryan Bosela, an Architectural Drafting student, as the winner of the Community College Scholarship. Since a young age, Ryan has been passionate about the field of Architecture. This passion has encouraged him to push for excellence in all areas of his schooling, eventually earning him recognition from his teachers and the National Technical Honor Society.

Though Ryan has numerous achievements for his age, he has also needed to overcome numerous struggles to get where he is today. At a young age Ryan was diagnosed with Asperger’s Disorder, a form of Autism. In addition to his Asperger’s diagnosis, Ryan also began having seizures with a frequency and severity that required surgery. But instead of allowing these difficulties in life to get him down, Ryan focused on his future goals and allowed his dreams to become his driving force.

Single Parent Scholarship Winner: Amanda Christensen

Amanda Christensen, June’s Single Parent Scholarship winner, aspires to become a professor upon her 2014 graduation with a PhD in Business Management. Her goal is to help students work towards their dreams and do it in a manner that inspires her students to help those around them. She hopes that by earning her PhD, she will have been able to show her son that anything is possible.
