We are excited to share more information about each of our third quarter scholarship winners, starting with our two military scholarship winners. David Navarro and Randi Fultz both have extensive experience in the military and impressed the scholarship panel with their drive and dedication.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years and developing skills in technical writing and editing, David decided he wanted to use his skills to share his love of learning. He is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree at Purdue Global in order to get the education he needs to become a teacher. David strives to make learning an exciting adventure, through both teaching and writing books. The writing and leadership skills that David gained while serving in the military have helped him gain the confidence he needs to succeed in his educational and career pursuits. A father of three, David has overcome many hardships throughout his life. He shared that, “This scholarship will help me to achieve my dreams of being an author, educator, and high school teacher.”
Randi Fultz is pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Communications at University of Maryland University College. After graduation, she plans to become a certified art teacher in Southern Indiana. Randi hopes to teach students about both traditional and digital artwork, because she believes art is an important part of childhood. Through her current endeavors as a private art teacher in Japan, she has realized the importance of raising children’s self esteem in relation to art. Randi’s military family members inspired her to join the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2009 as a Senior Airman Combat Arms Instructor. Randi, a mother and Navy wife, has a lot on her plate as she completes her degree and prepares to move back to the states.
We are very proud of David and Randi as they pursue their educational journeys and prepare for their future careers. We cannot wait to see the difference you both make as educators! The next round of scholarships is currently open and winners will be finalized after the December 30th deadline. Check out our scholarships page for more information!
